      <image:title>Blog - The digital nomad’s guide to Newquay, Cornwall - Box and Barber, central Newquay - warning, it can get very busy here during peak times but in off-season after lunch, it was quiet and the coffee was delicious! The Stables, Fistral - pizza, a view, big tables, a nice vibe - what more could you ask for? (The sunset pictured here is from The Stables in February - I know!). They also serve good beer and often have live music on in the evenings too. Cafe at Seaspace - it has a co-working vibe: sofas, tables, long farmhouse tables. This is the sort of place you can stay as long you want - and the gazillionaire slices are incredible. Trust me, you must haha. The wifi is also really fast here too, so it’s a great shout.</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - A digital nomad’s guide to Lisbon - Accommodation Lisbon has a lot of solid options, from luxury hotels to more budget friendly choices, to long-stay apartments and the hybrid option: apartment hotels (which is what I opted for). Heads up: there is a housing crisis in Lisbon at the moment; the popularity of the city has increased so much with expats over the last few years that locals are being priced out of their neighbourhoods (so personally, I didn’t want to stay in an AirBnb apartment) I’d seen a little while back that the apartment-hotel chain, Locke were opening up in Lisbon (Locke de Santa Joana) so when they announced their opening date, I immediately planned out my stay.</image:title>
      <image:caption>As a solo traveller, I appreciate the comfort and the safety of staying in an apartment hotel which has facilities - a reception team, restaurant, pool, bar, gym. Locke goes beyond that though and it is stacked - it has Portugal’s first Spiritland bar, a co-working space and a handful of restaurants and cafes you can sample during your stay, so it’s perfect for digital nomads. This made my morning walk to get a pastel de nata and espresso especially easy and Castros has, in my opinion, one of the best natas in the city. My studio apartment had everything I wanted and needed: a full kitchen, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, and then a dining and sitting area.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - A digital nomad’s guide to Lisbon - I loved Honest Greens - a healthy, chilled restaurant chain. The most similar thing I could compare it to in the UK is Nandos from a “you order at the till and they bring it to you” perspective (but with a more upmarket feel? My favourite one in Lisbon was in Principe Real - it has it’s own rooftop and the views are insane). I loved the Chimmichuri Steak Salad and the Latin Lover salad burrito bowl - and as they also offer a takeaway option and the meals are packed with healthy vegetables and salads, it was perfect for me. One of my favourite snacks came from the Potato Project, a dutch-inspired fries shop where you could mix and match your chunky chips with sauces (and of course, I went for the ‘Amsterdam’ with curry fries, mayo and little onions. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it - it’s a dutch classic!) Groceries and Public Transport On average, I’d say the groceries are a similar price to the UK (with some things being a fair bit cheaper and some being a bit more expensive) but alcohol was considerably cheaper. To head out to a rooftop bar and order a cocktail, you’re talking 8-14 euros rather than the £13-20 you’d easily pay in London. The public transport was brilliant too - I preloaded a Navegante travel card with 20 euros and I still had money left on my card at the end of my two weeks in Lisbon. Each journey costs 1.80 euros on the metro, bus or tram (and that includes an hour’s worth of travel after that too) and it was so easy to get around. Ubers are also really affordable in Portugal, so you have lots of options!</image:title>

I loved Torvehallerne food market, which is right next to Norreport metro stop, on the M1 metro line. I could get there in under 10 minutes from the hotel and if I had been in Copenhagen any longer, I definitely would’ve returned because there was so much choice here. Torvehallerne isn’t cheap - it has a ‘Wholefoods but better’ vibe about it but for what you get - very fresh produce, it didn’t feel too expensive. I had a scoop of the best gelato I’ve ever had for 33 DKK (approx £3.60). I also had a smorresbrod at Hallernes Smørrebrød - a Danish version of an open sandwich which was absolutely delicious, from their Tivoli food hall and I paid 68 DKK and 78 DKK for two different ones - potato and crispy onions and roast beef. We are talking £17 for an OPEN SANDWICH, but the portion for two was so big I had to take half of it back to the room with me (the photo is deceiving - the height on this thing actually made me laugh out loud when it was first handed to me) and as breakfast was included within my room rate, I was eating a big breakfast, a snack for lunch and a dinner in the evenings which kept the costs down.</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - A digital nomad’s guide to Copenhagen - I stayed in Zuko Copenhagen, which I absolutely loved and it’s perfect for digital nomads. I’ve had this hotel on my radar for years - literally years, so when I decided that Copenhagen was where I wanted to visit next for a work trip, it was at the very top of my list. I stayed in a loft room - their version of a studio with a kitchen, working/dining area, sofa space and a “loft” bedroom (with a secret staircase which pulls out of the wall).</image:title>
      <image:caption>Not only that, but Zuko Copenhagen has an amazing rooftop and co-working space too. It’s set up for short and long stay guests so it’s made for people like you and I, that work online and want somewhere creative to work. I filmed lots of TikToks and reels from my time at Zuko including a co-working space tour and a room tour, in case you wanted to check them out! Other things you should know about Zuko? Zuko is just outside of the city centre, but it’s a two minute walk from the nearest metro station - DR Byen. DR Byen is a five minute metro ride to Kongens Nytrov though, the metro station that’s right by Nyhavn and the main shopping road, Stroget, so it is so easy to get around. The M1 line (Dr Byen's metro line) has a handful of great stops on it, so it won’t take you long to whizz into the city.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - A digital nomad’s guide to Copenhagen - My absolute favourite meal of the trip has to go to Gasoline Grill for one of their burgers because oh my GOODNESS, it was unreal. UNREAL. I went to the iconic one which is housed in an old school petrol station: Landgreven 10, 1301 København, Denmark (in case you wanted to check it out) and although I had a 45 minute wait for this thing, I’d do it again in a heartbeart. The chips were also delicious and the gasoline sauce, which was like a mustardy, pickley, tomatoey vibe - ahhhh. I want this meal all over again!</image:title>
      <image:caption>Tip for you: if you walk five minutes around the corner to Kongens Have, which is like a royal park - it’s the perfect place to have a picnic with your Gasoline Grill burger. It was a beautiful warm evening when I did this so honestly, you couldn’t top it! The burger, chips, dip came to 145 DKK overall (£16.65) which is pretty much what you’d pay in London for something like this too.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>If you want to shake up the design of your stories too, Instagram give you the option of adding GIFs to your stories as backgrounds. If you open up your stories camera and then choose the option “Create” (the Aa button in the menu) you should then see the GIF option in the bottom menu. From there you can search for the best option for you (it’s a handy option if you want a background to a Q&amp;A or something!). Just as a heads up though, it’ll duplicate the same GIF three times across the screen to make the background (like the example here) so best to choose an option which doesn’t ‘flash’ too much!</image:caption>

Where they used to pay radio stations for exposure… this is the new version!) Both music labels and agencies are organising these partnerships, so keep your eyes peeled. 3) Quick turnaround time for a campaign? If the brand want you to turn your content around really quickly - you should be charging for it. If the brand are giving you as the creator 4+ days to turn around the content, it’s cheeky but not unreasonable. Anything less than that I’d call a “rush campaign” and I’d be adding an extra fee on to the brand. Example: if a brand asked an agency to turn around a campaign that quickly, they charge rush fees for that too!</image:title>

      <image:caption>Where it started I’ve wanted to combine what I do - working on social media and travelling since (no joke) … the dawn of time. For me, it’s all about freedom. I love speaking to new people. I love trying local food. I love seeing, feeling, absorbing somewhere that will leave a stamp on me. It feels like the ultimate privilege, and one I never take for granted. Real time update: My honey lemon iced tea has just arrived and oh my goodness, this stuff is the ELIXIR OF LIFE (see photo above - delish haha) And when January came around, six weeks before I wanted to leave, I booked it. I knew I wanted a trip with less flights than I’ve done in Asia before as it’s something that makes me anxious and honestly, that was one of the best decisions I made. How have I found it? The first four/five days, I was the most anxious I’ve been in the last few years and I didn’t really sleep the week before I left. I can’t talk about my anxiety when I’m in it without getting more nervous, like its Voldemort or something, so I didn’t just casually blurt it out on my Stories. I found the constant decision making, looking out for my safety and being beyond self aware, which is something you need to do as a solo traveller (plus the work), exhausting.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>1- The follow - unfollow “technique” is STILL a thing And it’s not just bots, I still see pretty big, established accounts do it which is mind-blowing to me in 2025. I’ve noticed people who I recognise follow me, for them to unfollow a week later. Alongside that, there are awful bot programs out there where you can pay for new followers too and this is a dodgy technique they use (which says it all) This is by far one of the most common reasons you’re being unfollowed, so we want those slimy swines gone. 2 - You’ve changed your niche/what you talk about Do you know the main reason why somebody should follow you? If you don’t, it’s worth thinking about. It’s something I talk about in my strategy calls, as it gets you into the mindset of your audience and structures your content. Take this as an example - a typical niche-change I see (one in the social media space) is for an account to start by sharing social media tips, to then change their niche to “how to sell and grow your business via social media”. If we start by thinking about the audience first here - these two audiences are so different. Those who want to learn about social media don’t necessarily want to sell anything (creators/high profile individuals like celebrities vs brands and businesses) and that split puts you at risk of losing a good chunk of your engagement too. I know lots of creators who’ve switched up their niche change successfully, and it definitely doesn’t mean you shouldn’t change up your content if what you’re sharing doesn’t fulfill you anymore. It’s just something to bear in mind, because if somebody has followed you for a specific reason and you’ve either pivoted or you don’t talk about it anymore, unless you have a plan in place they’ll probably unfollow you.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Canon UK’s Instagram community grew from 10,000 to 100,000 quickly and when I left over four years later, 400,000 people followed their Instagram channel which I was so proud of. In my four and half years I covered a lot of ground and I feel so lucky that I got to be a part of it. A big part of my role was getting to know Instagrammers in UK and Ireland and our Instameets were huge. We opened up a closed tube station in London (there’s one hidden away on the end of The Strand - we went THERE and it was so cool!), hired the caves underneath Somerset House and put on a gig (the more secret our venues - the better), turned a big mansion into a Christmas wonderland and the photos the Instagrammers took - and the hashtag reach, was always insane. The photo you can see here, it was from the biggest event I’d hosted - 150+ people came to see us in Knightsbridge. I also held social media coaching sessions at the Wimbledon Open for sports photographers. I travelled down to the Royal Navy headquarters to hang out with photographers for their centenary (3am, whiskey bar, sailors - it was a wild night haha). I travelled to trade shows in and around Europe, went on a photography trip to Iceland where we saw the Northern Lights (!) - how lucky was I?!</image:caption>

My last placement was at Harpers Bazaar, on the web team. That placement was officially my turning point - I saw social media for what it could be (this is pre-Instagram!) and I knew it had the potential to be huge. Not long after, I got my first job in social media, working in travel and managing a handful of social accounts at TUI. I can’t even begin to tell you how great that job was.
